I DID IT!
I'd intended to write a full report but haven't got around to it yet so here is a summary:
I was in the saddle for 30 hours and 39 minutes and did 404 miles from Broadlands in Medstead to the Eiffel Tower over 5 days. That's an average of just over 13 miles/hour (whilst moving - not including stops).
It was fantastic. I really, really enjoyed it. Both the bike and body held up incredibly well. I didn't even have to pump up the bike tyres once, the only minor problem was a few spokes that needed tightening up. I didn't fall off (unlike several of my team) and as for the body, I just had to liberally apply various creams to various parts and consume massive amounts of liquid, most of it non-alcoholic would you believe.
Apart from Sunday WALKING around Paris, the worst day (and it still wasn't too bad) was the first day in France when (after 90 miles the previous day) the route was changed and we did 96 miles instead of 70, and it was the hottest day.
So thank you again for supporting me and, if you haven't paid already, I'll be after you soon.
Regards
John
